Kubly's Automotive Celebrating 20 Years in Business
Dusty Kubly of Brodhead, who has been involved in the automotive industry locally since 1985, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his business, Kubly’s Automotive, LLC this summer. An open house will be held at W896 TenEyck Road on Saturday, August 2, from 11-2 with food, refreshments and door prizes. “I invite everyone to stop by and say hi and see our facility,” said Dusty.
As a sophomore in high school, Dusty started part-time with Gary Sutherland of Gary’s Standard, Inc., in Brodhead—and he has been active in the automotive industry ever since. “I enjoy working with customers and being able to serve their automotive needs,” said Dusty. “That’s what’s nice, the relationship with the customers.” After his part-time start at Gary’s Standard in 1985, Dusty moved to full time in 1987 and opened a towing business in October, 1992 as he continued to work for Gary. He then began working for himself in his current business on July 1, 1994, when he bought Northside Auto Repair from Gil Koch. In 1996 he sold the towing business in order to focus 100% of his time in the automotive repair business. Three years later he relocated his automotive business to its present location, his residence at W896 TenEyck Road in Brodhead.
In 2011, his shop was remodeled which included an addition of 1,200 square feet for a total of 3,300
square feet to better serve his customers. He also began selling used vehicles in the spring of 2011, when he added a dealer’s license to sell used cars. Office space was remodeled in 2014, with the addition of a customer waiting area.
“I couldn’t have done it without my wife, Roxy, who has handled the bookwork for the business for 20 years, and the support of my kids, Kylie and Dylan.” said Dusty, who also thanked his two full time ASE technicians, Jamison Blizard and Cale Zettle, and service writer Robin Walenton. “Our employees are a very valuable asset to the growth of the business, with how they take care of our customers and their automotive needs,” Dusty said. “Over the years, the automotive business has had significant technology changes, which requires continued training and equipment upgrades. Everything involves computers these days.”
Kubly’s Automotive, LLC provides a full range of automotive services starting from oil changes to
full engine replacement and repair. Other services include tires, brakes, exhaust, steering and suspension, computer diagnostics, driveline repair, A/C service and repair, transmission service and repair and electrical service. Kubly’s Automotive, LLC also offers free pickup and delivery in the City of Brodhead and surrounding area and also offers free loaner cars. Used cars can be viewed anytime at his facility and have complete safety inspections. Dusty takes great care to find the best used vehicles he can find based on his customer’s needs.
As the 21st year of Kubly’s Automotive, LLC gets underway, Dusty will continue doing what he does best, providing his customers the highest quality of service for their automotive needs.
